Delightful homemade kibbles made with sweet watermelon and creamy yogurt for your furry friend.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 20 kibbles

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh watermelon, pureed
  • 1 cup plain yogurt (unsweetened, dog-friendly)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (optional)
  • 2 cups oat flour (or whole wheat flour)
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the watermelon: Scoop out about a cup of fresh watermelon flesh, remove seeds, and blend until smooth.
  2. Mix the ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the watermelon puree with a cup of plain yogurt. Add peanut butter or honey if using.
  3. Incorporate the flour: Gradually mix in about two cups of oat flour until achieving a dough-like consistency.
  4. Form the kibbles: Roll the dough into small balls or shape with cookie cutters (about the diameter of a nickel).
  5. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), lay kibbles on a baking sheet lined with parchment, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool and serve: Allow kibbles to cool before serving to your furry friend.

Notes

Ensure watermelon puree is not too watery for consistency. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
