Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 cup chopped carrots (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh herbs (rosemary or parsley)
Instructions
- Cook the turkey: In a large skillet over medium heat, drizzle olive oil and add the ground turkey. Cook until golden brown and fully cooked—about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the vegetables: Stir in the chopped carrots and peas, mixing them well with the turkey for another 3-5 minutes until the carrots soften slightly.
- Mix in the pumpkin: Reduce heat, then stir in the pumpkin puree, combining everything until well mixed.
- Add broth: Pour in the low-sodium broth to create a moist consistency.
- Let it simmer: Allow the mixture to simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors.
- Cool and serve: Once cooled, serve appropriate portions to your pup and refrigerate any leftovers.
