Ingredients
- 1 can tuna, drained
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup butter or olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley or dill
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the canned tuna, whole wheat flour, egg, and your choice of fat or broth in a mixing bowl.
- Add the chopped herbs, and gently fold them into the mixture.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
- Place the cut-out treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Make sure to drain the tuna well to avoid a soggy mixture. These treats can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week, or refrigerated for freshness.
