A healthy and delicious dog cake made with sweet potatoes and oats, perfect for spoiling your furry friend.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the sweet potatoes by baking them for 45 minutes until fork-tender, then mash until smooth.
  3. Mix the mashed sweet potatoes, rolled oats, applesauce, eggs, and baking powder in a large bowl. Add cinnamon if desired.
  4. Blend the mixture until well combined; the batter should be thick but spreadable.
  5. Prepare an 8-inch round cake pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  6. Pour the batter into the pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Decorate with a thin layer of peanut butter or dog treats if desired.
