Delicious and nutritious homemade dog treats made with fresh spinach and carrots.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 20 treats

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, grated
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened, xylitol-free peanut butter
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the spinach and carrots by rinsing the spinach and chopping it finely, and grating or chopping the carrots.
  3. Mix the spinach, carrots, flour, and peanut butter in a large bowl. Add the egg and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick and use cookie cutters to cut into shapes.
  5. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown and firm to the touch.
  6. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

Ensure to chop the spinach finely for better mixing. For variations, try using pumpkin puree instead of peanut butter for dogs with allergies.
