Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for gluten-free)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken or beef broth
  • 1 large egg (or flax egg for egg-free)
  • 1 cup grated carrots or sweet potatoes (or zucchini/pumpkin puree)
  • Fresh parsley or basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the peanut butter, egg, and broth in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add in the whole wheat flour and grated vegetables, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut into shapes.
  5. Place the cutouts on a lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool the treats on a wire rack before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

Avoid using xylitol or other harmful ingredients. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer shelf life.
