Ingredients
- 1 cup Salmon (fresh or canned)
- 1 cup Brown rice
- 2 cups Water
- 1 cup Carrots (chopped)
- 1 cup Peas
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- Fresh herbs (like parsley or dill)
Instructions
- Gather and prepare your ingredients. If you’re using fresh salmon, make sure to remove any bones.
- In a large saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil and add 1 cup of brown rice. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes until the rice is tender.
- While the rice is cooking, in a separate skillet over medium heat, add a touch of olive oil. Once heated, place the salmon skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until it flakily falls apart.
- Remove the salmon from the heat and let it cool slightly before flaking it into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, flaked salmon, chopped carrots, peas, and any veggie additions you fancy. Mix everything together generously.
- Add a sprinkle of herbs to enhance flavor and serve it warm—making sure it’s not too hot for your pup’s sensitive palate.
- Portion it out in your dog’s bowl and watch the magic happen!
