Delicious and nutritious dog cakes made with pumpkin puree and peanut butter, perfect for your furry friend.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened natural peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the whole wheat flour and baking powder in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Blend the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and egg together until smooth. If using honey, add it now.
  4. Combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients until fully combined; the batter should be thick but spreadable.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for about 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Serve by cutting into dog-friendly squares or using cookie cutters for fun shapes.
  9. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

Ensure that the peanut butter does not contain xylitol, as it is harmful to dogs. You can substitute almond butter or sunflower seed butter if needed.
