Ingredients
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup unsweetened natural peanut butter
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp honey (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix the whole wheat flour and baking powder in a bowl and set aside.
- Blend the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and egg together until smooth. If using honey, add it now.
- Combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients until fully combined; the batter should be thick but spreadable.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for about 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve by cutting into dog-friendly squares or using cookie cutters for fun shapes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
Notes
Ensure that the peanut butter does not contain xylitol, as it is harmful to dogs. You can substitute almond butter or sunflower seed butter if needed.
