Ingredients
- ½ cup coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons baking soda
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or peppermint leaves (finely chopped)
- Optional: a drop of beef or chicken broth
- Optional: 1 teaspoon turmeric
Instructions
- Start by melting ½ cup of coconut oil in a small saucepan over low heat until it’s completely liquefied.
- Remove it from the heat and mix in 2 tablespoons of baking soda to create a paste.
- Finely chop 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley or peppermint leaves and stir them into the mixture.
- If you’re feeling fancy, add a little broth or turmeric to flavor it up.
- Once the mixture is consistent, pour it into a small, easily accessible container.
Notes
This paste will keep in the fridge for up to a month. When brushing, use a dog toothbrush or a soft cloth to gently apply a small amount of the DIY toothpaste to their teeth. Introduce it slowly to your pet to create a positive experience.
