A nutritious and delicious homemade dog food recipe featuring lamb and sweet potatoes, perfect for your furry friend.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground or cubed lamb
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped (or peas or green beans)
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: fresh parsley or rosemary

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients: Make sure you have everything on hand, ideally fresh and organic.
  2. Prep the sweet potatoes: Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into small cubes for uniform cooking.
  3. Cook the lamb: In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the lamb and sauté until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add vegetables: Stir in the chopped sweet potatoes (and any other veggies you’re using). Sauté for a few minutes until they start to soften.
  5. Pour in broth: Add enough broth to cover the mixture and let it simmer for around 20-30 minutes until the ingredients are cooked through and tender.
  6. Let it cool: Once cooked, remove from heat and let it cool completely. You can blend or mash it if your pup prefers a smoother texture.
  7. Store: Portion out the food into containers and consider freezing some for future meals.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are dog-safe and avoid any harmful additives.
