A nutritious and delicious homemade meal for your furry friend, combining fresh protein, vegetables, and wholesome grains.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Chicken or Beef (or Turkey)
  • 1 cup Carrots, chopped
  • 1 cup Spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup Peas
  • 1 cup Green Beans, chopped
  • 1 cup Brown Rice or Oatmeal
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil or Coconut Oil
  • 1/4 cup Parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Wash and chop the vegetables into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add your choice of protein. Cook until browned and fully cooked through—this usually takes about 7–10 minutes for chicken or beef.
  3. Remove the protein from the skillet and set it aside. In the same skillet, add your chopped vegetables. Sauté for 5 minutes until they’re tender and full of flavor.
  4. Next, add the cooked protein back into the skillet. Stir in your grains (like brown rice or oatmeal) and mix well.
  5. Add a splash of water or low-sodium chicken broth to keep things moist, along with your chosen herbs. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Allow the dish to cool to an appropriate temperature before serving it to your pet.
  7. Serve in their favorite bowl, and watch the tail-wagging commence!

Notes

Avoid using onions or garlic in large quantities as they can be harmful to dogs. Ensure adequate cooling before serving.
