Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
- 1 cup lentils (green or brown)
- 2 carrots (chopped)
- 1 cup peas (frozen or fresh)
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme)
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Chop the chicken, carrots, and any other vegetables you wish to use. Rinse the lentils thoroughly.
- Sauté the chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes.
- Add vegetables and lentils: Toss in the chopped carrots and lentils, stirring together.
- Pour in the broth: Add enough chicken broth to cover the mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes until lentils are tender.
- Finish with herbs: Stir in chopped parsley or other herbs to enhance flavor.
- Cool and serve: Let cool completely before serving to your pup.
