Ingredients
- Chicken (breast or thighs)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Touch of cayenne to taste
- Fresh herbs (parsley or cilantro)
- Optional sides: coleslaw, baked beans, grilled corn on the cob
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine brown sugar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Mix until well blended.
- Place the chicken in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and let the chicken come to room temperature for about 15 minutes.
- Place the chicken on the grill, cooking each side for 6-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Optionally, sprinkle fresh herbs over the chicken before serving.
Notes
Ensure the grill is clean to prevent sticking. Use tongs instead of a fork to turn the chicken to keep juices intact.
