- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- ½ cup water
- 1 egg
- Optional add-ins: shredded carrots, mashed sweet potato, or grated cheese
Instructions
- Combine 1 cup of sourdough starter with 2 cups of whole wheat flour in a large mixing bowl.
- Pour in about ½ cup of water and crack in one egg.
- Mix until the ingredients come together into a shaggy dough.
- Transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thick and use cookie cutters to make shapes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the cut-out treats on the sheet, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and crunchy.
- Let them cool completely before serving.
Notes
Ensure your sourdough starter is active for the best results. Add herbs or cheese for extra flavor variations.
