A warm and inviting Cinnamon Swirl Bread that combines sweet and savory notes, perfect for family gatherings and weekend brunches.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 12 slices

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2¼ teaspoons) instant or active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups warm milk (around 110°F)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and create a workspace. In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until foamy for about 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and butter. Add the foamy yeast mixture and eggs. Stir until you achieve a sticky dough.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt for the filling.
  6. Punch down the risen dough, roll into a 12×18-inch rectangle, spread with butter, and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top. Roll the dough into a log.
  7. Place the rolled dough in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise for 30-60 minutes until puffy.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and hollow when tapped.
  9. Cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Serve with cream cheese or vanilla icing for added indulgence. Pairs well with coffee or tea.
