Ingredients
- 2 cups skinless, boneless chicken (breast or thighs), chopped
- 1 cup sweet apples (e.g., Fuji or Honeycrisp), diced
- 1 cup kale or spinach, chopped
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth or water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Start by prepping your ingredients: Chop chicken into bite-sized pieces, dice the apples (removing seeds), and chop the kale or spinach.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and sauté until golden brown and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Once the chicken is fully cooked, stir in the diced apples, carrots, and kale. Allow them to soften slightly, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth or water, then bring it to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for another 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Allow the dish to cool completely before serving it to your pup. You can serve it warm, but ensure it isn’t too hot.
- Make sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container once cooled. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Notes
Avoid using garlic and onions as they can be toxic to dogs. Always cool the food before serving.
