A nourishing and flavorful homemade dog food recipe made with beef, carrots, and aromatic herbs.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or stew meat
  • 2 cups fresh carrots, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth or low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or thyme (or dried herbs)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Wash and chop the carrots into small, bite-sized pieces. Dice the beef into similar-sized chunks if using whole cuts.
  2. Cook the beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and sauté until browned.
  3. Add the carrots: Fold in the carrots and sauté for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in broth: Gradually add the broth, bringing the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  5. Season with herbs: Sprinkle in the herbs and stir well, allowing the flavors to meld for about 10 minutes.
  6. Cool & Serve: Allow to cool before serving. Portion into dog bowls and store leftovers in an airtight container.

Notes

Ensure the dish cools before serving to avoid burning your dog. Avoid adding salt, garlic, or onions.
