Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken or beef broth
- 1 tablespoon parsley (optional)
- 1 tablespoon bacon grease (reserved)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
- Remove the bacon and reserve a tablespoon of the grease.
- Crumble the cooled bacon into small pieces.
- Combine whole wheat flour, crumbled bacon, and parsley in a mixing bowl.
- Add the egg and broth, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface, rolling it out to ¼ inch thick.
- Shape the treats with cookie cutters and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Cool completely before serving.
