Wholesome and nutritious dog treats made with lean turkey and canned pumpkin, perfect for your furry friend.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 24 treats

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin (not pie filling)
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (or alternative flour)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the ground turkey, canned pumpkin, and egg in a large mixing bowl. Mix until well blended.
  3. Add the whole wheat flour and sprinkle in the cinnamon. Knead the dough until it forms a cohesive ball.
  4. Roll out the dough to about ½ inch thick on a floured surface.
  5. Cut out your treats using cookie cutters or slice them into squares or rectangles.
  6. Arrange the treats on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring a little space between each one.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
  8. Allow the treats to cool completely before giving them to your pup.

Notes

For an extra treat, consider drizzling peanut butter on top once cooled, ensuring it’s xylitol-free.
