A delightful sweet treat that combines crunchy popcorn with a rich caramel glaze, bringing warmth and nostalgia to every gathering.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • ½ cup popcorn kernels
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add a few popcorn kernels and cover the pot. Once they pop, add the remaining kernels, cover, and shake occasionally until popping slows down. Remove from heat.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in sugar and salt until the mixture bubbles and turns golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Remove the caramel from heat and carefully stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Place the popped popcorn in a large bowl and drizzle the caramel over it. Stir gently to coat evenly.
  5. Allow to cool for a few minutes and enjoy. Optionally sprinkle with sea salt before serving.

Notes

Use a heavy-bottomed pot for even heating, and keep an eye on the caramel to avoid burning.
