Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken (skinless, boneless)
- 1 cup lentils (brown or green)
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth or water
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 onion (diced)
- 2 carrots (diced)
- 1 cup green beans (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme (chopped)
- Optional: 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional: 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Sauté minced garlic and diced onion in a bit of olive oil on the stovetop until fragrant.
- Combine the sautéed onions and garlic with chopped chicken, rinsed lentils, diced carrots, and any additional vegetables in your slow cooker.
- Pour in the low-sodium chicken broth or water until everything’s just submerged.
- Add fresh herbs and a pinch of salt for seasoning.
- Set your slow cooker to low for about 6-8 hours.
- Shred the chicken with forks once done cooking, mixing everything together.
- Allow it to cool before serving to your pup.
