Ingredients
- 1 cup wild-caught salmon
- 1 cup quinoa
- 2 cups water or low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup chopped vegetables (carrots, peas, spinach)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or unsalted butter
- Fresh herbs (parsley or basil) for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse one cup of quinoa under cool water. In a pot, add two cups of water or low-sodium chicken broth and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add quinoa, reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for about 15 minutes until fluffy.
- Preheat your skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and place the salmon fillet skin-side down. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from skillet and let cool before flaking.
- Toss in your chosen vegetables into the same skillet and sauté for a few minutes until tender.
- Combine the cooked quinoa, salmon, and sautéed vegetables in a large bowl. Add a bit more olive oil if desired and mix well.
- Garnish with finely chopped herbs for an aromatic finish.
- Serve to your pup and enjoy the joy in their eyes!
