A nutritious and delicious homemade meal for your furry friend, packed with salmon, quinoa, and fresh vegetables.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wild-caught salmon
  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 2 cups water or low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup chopped vegetables (carrots, peas, spinach)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or unsalted butter
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or basil) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse one cup of quinoa under cool water. In a pot, add two cups of water or low-sodium chicken broth and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add quinoa, reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for about 15 minutes until fluffy.
  2. Preheat your skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil and place the salmon fillet skin-side down. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from skillet and let cool before flaking.
  3. Toss in your chosen vegetables into the same skillet and sauté for a few minutes until tender.
  4. Combine the cooked quinoa, salmon, and sautéed vegetables in a large bowl. Add a bit more olive oil if desired and mix well.
  5. Garnish with finely chopped herbs for an aromatic finish.
  6. Serve to your pup and enjoy the joy in their eyes!
