Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup brown rice
- 1 salmon fillet (fresh or frozen)
- Olive oil for cooking
- 1 cup chopped vegetables (carrots, peas, spinach, or sweet potatoes)
- 1-2 tablespoons fresh herbs (parsley or dill)
- Fish oil (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the brown rice by combining 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of water in a pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 40-45 minutes until tender.
- Prepare the salmon by heating a skillet with olive oil and searing the salmon fillet for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Add the vegetables to the skillet during the last 2-3 minutes of cooking.
- Mix everything together by flaking the cooked salmon into a large bowl, then combine it with the cooked brown rice and the vegetables.
- Accessorize the dish with chopped parsley or dill.
- Cool the meal completely before serving to your dog.
Notes
Always check for any food allergies or sensitivities and be sure to remove bones from the salmon before serving.
