Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring (optional)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and cocoa powder until combined, then let it cool slightly.
  3. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar, mixing well.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, stirring after each, then mix in vanilla extract and red food coloring.
  5. Fold in all-purpose flour carefully without overmixing.
  6. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until creamy, then mix in an egg, vanilla extract, and sugar.
  7. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, then dollop the cream cheese mixture on top and swirl with a knife.
  8. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the top, smoothing it out carefully.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Allow brownies to cool before slicing.
