Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring (optional)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter and cocoa powder until combined, then let it cool slightly.
- Add granulated sugar and brown sugar, mixing well.
- Add eggs one at a time, stirring after each, then mix in vanilla extract and red food coloring.
- Fold in all-purpose flour carefully without overmixing.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese until creamy, then mix in an egg, vanilla extract, and sugar.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, then dollop the cream cheese mixture on top and swirl with a knife.
- Pour the remaining brownie batter over the top, smoothing it out carefully.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Allow brownies to cool before slicing.
Notes
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzled chocolate for an extra special treat. They can be frozen for up to 3 months.
