- 1 cup pumpkin puree (canned, pure, no additives)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened peanut butter (xylitol-free)
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups whole wheat flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon (use sparingly)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, mash together the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and eggs until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and level it with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve as slices or the whole cake on a dog-friendly platter.
Notes
For a fun touch, add dog-safe decorations like carob chips or coconut flakes on top. Avoid chocolate as it’s toxic to dogs.
