Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1–2 teaspoons cinnamon and nutmeg (or desired spices)
- 2 large eggs
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup pumpkin puree
- ½ cup unsalted melted butter (cooled)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease madeleine molds.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and spices.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs and brown sugar until thick and pale.
- Stir in pumpkin puree and melted butter until combined.
- Fold in the dry ingredients gently.
- Spoon batter into molds, filling them about three-quarters full.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
- Optionally drizzle with a glaze of powdered sugar and maple syrup.
Notes
Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter. Do not overmix the batter to maintain a light texture.
