Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1–2 teaspoons cinnamon and nutmeg (or desired spices)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • ½ cup unsalted melted butter (cooled)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease madeleine molds.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and spices.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs and brown sugar until thick and pale.
  4. Stir in pumpkin puree and melted butter until combined.
  5. Fold in the dry ingredients gently.
  6. Spoon batter into molds, filling them about three-quarters full.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool slightly in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Optionally drizzle with a glaze of powdered sugar and maple syrup.
