Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, and spices until smooth.
- Spread 2/3 of brownie batter into the pan. Drop spoonfuls of pumpkin mixture on top, then add remaining brownie batter. Use a knife to gently swirl layers together.
- Bake for 38-42 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
For extra fudgy brownies, don’t overbake — slightly underdone is perfect. Chill before slicing for neat squares. You can add chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor.
