Ingredients

  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (around 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing it with warm water and sugar; allow it to sit until frothy.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients with the yeast mixture.
  4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour.
  6. Shape the bagels and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Boil the bagels in water for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  8. Bake the bagels at 425°F (220°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.
