Ingredients
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 1 cup unsweetened apples (finely chopped or pureed)
- 2 ½ cups whole wheat flour (or almond/oat flour for gluten-free)
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 egg (or unsweetened applesauce for egg-free)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine 1 cup of canned pumpkin and 1 cup of unsweetened apples in a large mixing bowl.
- Add in 2 ½ cups of whole wheat flour, 1 cup of rolled oats, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Mix everything until it forms a dough, adjusting with more flour if too sticky.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thick, then cut out shapes with cookie cutters.
- Place the cutouts on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow the treats to cool completely before serving.
Notes
Rotate the baking sheet halfway through to ensure even cooking. Adjust baking time based on treat size.
