- 1 package puff pastry (store-bought)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Lightly flour your countertop and roll out the puff pastry sheets to smooth any creases.
- Slice the puff pastry sheet into strips about 1 inch wide.
- In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle it over each strip of dough.
- Take each pastry strip and twist it several times to create a spiral.
- Brush melted butter generously over each twisted pastry.
- Place the twists on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until they are puffy and golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
These twists can be served warm alongside a cup of coffee or tea. Optional icing made from powdered sugar and milk can elevate them further.
