  • Total Time: 120
  • Yield: 16 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Pan: Grease an 8-inch square pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk, stirring gently until melted and smooth.
  3. Add Butter and Extract: Remove from heat, mix in butter until melted, then stir in peppermint extract.
  4. Incorporate Candy Canes: Fold in half of the crushed candy canes.
  5. Spread and Chill: Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly and sprinkle remaining candy canes on top. Refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.
  6. Cut and Enjoy: Lift the fudge out of the pan, cut into squares, and store in an airtight container.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips. Allow the fudge to chill slowly in the refrigerator for the best texture.
