Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- 1 cup crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and half of the crushed candy canes.
- Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet and sprinkle remaining crushed candy canes on top.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free flour blend. Coconut oil can replace butter for a dairy-free version.
