Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (chilled)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Scoop Nutella into small dollops on a lined baking sheet and freeze for about 15 minutes.
  8. Scoop about a tablespoon of dough, make an indentation, and place a frozen dollop of Nutella inside, encasing it with dough.
  9. Place the filled cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  10. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy warm!
