Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Nutella (chilled)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Scoop Nutella into small dollops on a lined baking sheet and freeze for about 15 minutes.
- Scoop about a tablespoon of dough, make an indentation, and place a frozen dollop of Nutella inside, encasing it with dough.
- Place the filled cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy warm!
Notes
Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of whipped cream.
