A hearty and creamy casserole featuring tortellini, a flavorful meat sauce, and a blend of cheeses, perfect for family meals and gatherings.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until fully cooked, draining excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for about 5 minutes to combine flavors.
  5. In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  6. Layer half of the cooked tortellini in the greased baking dish, followed by half of the meat sauce and dollops of the cream cheese mixture. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the casserole.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with a side salad or garlic bread!

Notes

You can add sautéed vegetables for extra flavor or use different types of meat or cheese to customize the dish.
