Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 4-5 tea bags (Ceylon or Darjeeling)
- 2 large lemons (juice and zest)
- Sugar (to taste; raw sugar or honey also works)
- 3 cups cold water
- Fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
- Add 4-5 tea bags to the boiling water and steep for 5-7 minutes.
- While the tea is steeping, wash, zest, and juice the lemons.
- Once steeped, remove the tea from heat and stir in the sugar until completely dissolved.
- Add the lemon juice and zest to the tea, stirring well.
- Pour the mixture into a pitcher, dilute with 3 cups of cold water, and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
- Serve over ice in tall glasses, garnished with fresh mint and a slice of lemon.
Notes
For a lower-calorie version, consider using monk fruit sweetener or agave syrup instead of sugar.
