Instructions
- Prep your ingredients: Wash and dry the romaine lettuce and tomatoes. Slice the tomatoes and onions thinly, and gather your meats and cheese.
- Prepare the hoagie rolls: Slice each hoagie roll horizontally, but do not cut all the way through—they should open like a book. Lightly toast them if you prefer a bit of crunch.
- Layer your sandwich: Start with a bed of lettuce on the bottom, followed by slices of salami, ham, capicola, and provolone cheese. Add tomato slices and onion rings next.
- Add a drizzle: Finish it off with a light drizzle of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and some fresh herbs if using. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Close and serve: Carefully fold the hoagie roll closed, pressing down gently. Slice it in half if desired, and serve immediately!
