A delightful balance of sweetness and umami, featuring tender chicken coated in a rich honey-soy glaze.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken (breast or thighs), sliced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • Vegetables (optional, e.g., bell peppers, broccoli)
  • 1 tbsp oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients and set your workspace.
  2. Slice chicken into bite-sized pieces and pat dry with a paper towel.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove chicken and set aside. Reduce the heat to medium, add garlic and ginger, and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce and honey, stirring well; let bubble for a minute.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, ensuring each piece is well-coated in sauce.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and sauté for another minute, adding vegetables if desired.
  8. Serve over rice or noodles, topping with additional sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

For a vegan option, substitute honey with maple syrup. Marinating the chicken for 30 minutes can enhance flavor.
