A delightful and nutritious treat for your furry friend, made with ripe bananas and whole wheat flour.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (or oat flour for gluten-free)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 beaten egg (or unsweetened applesauce for egg-free)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter (or almond butter)
  • Vanilla extract (dog-safe or omitted)
  • Coconut oil or butter for greasing the skillet

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bananas: In a mixing bowl, mash 1 cup of ripe bananas until creamy.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of whole wheat flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of cinnamon (optional).
  3. Combine mixtures: Add the dry ingredients to the mashed bananas. Mix well, then add 1 beaten egg and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter for extra flavor.
  4. It’s griddle time: Preheat your skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with a little coconut oil or butter.
  5. Cook the pancakes: Pour a ladleful of batter into the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes per side or until you see bubbles forming.
  6. Cool and serve: Allow the pancakes to cool to a safe temperature before serving them to your pup.
