Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless chicken breast (cut into small pieces)
- 1 cup whole grain brown rice
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1 cup green beans
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional: Fresh parsley or herbs
Instructions
- Rinse the brown rice and bring 2 cups of broth to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in the rice, cover, and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for about 35–40 minutes, or until tender.
- Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken pieces and sauté until golden brown and fully cooked (about 7–10 minutes).
- Add the chopped carrots and green beans to the skillet, stirring everything together. Cook for an additional 5–7 minutes until veggies soften.
- Mix the cooked brown rice into the skillet, stirring until everything is evenly combined.
- Let the mixture cool completely before serving it in your dog’s bowl.
Notes
Ensure chicken is cooked thoroughly without any pink spots for safety. Avoid using regular chicken broth; stick to low-sodium and exclude harmful ingredients like onion and garlic.
