Ingredients
- 1 cup chicken broth (preferably homemade)
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley or other herbs
- Optional mix-ins: grated carrots or pumpkin
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and oats. Stir to ensure even distribution.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and egg. Add finely chopped parsley or other herbs.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough begins to form. If the mixture feels dry, add a bit more chicken broth.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for a minute until smooth. Roll it out to about a quarter-inch thickness.
- Cut out your biscuits using cookie cutters and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool completely before serving and store in an airtight container.
Notes
Feel free to substitute chicken broth with beef broth or use almond flour for a grain-free option.
