Delicious and healthy dog biscuits made with wholesome chicken broth, oats, and herbs—perfect for your furry friend.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 20 biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 egg
  • Fresh parsley or a pinch of rosemary (optional)
  • Garlic (optional, use sparingly)

Instructions

  1. Begin by making the chicken broth. Pour your low-sodium chicken broth into a pot and let it simmer. If using raw chicken, cook it first, then shred it before adding it back to the pot.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, rolled oats, and egg. Mix until blended.
  3. Gradually incorporate the warm chicken broth, about half a cup at a time, until the dough comes together.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into fun shapes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the biscuit shapes on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool in the oven with the door ajar for an extra crunch.
  7. Once cooled, store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

Notes

Ensure you use low-sodium chicken broth without onions or garlic for safety. Let biscuits cool completely before serving to avoid hurting your dog’s teeth.
