A nutritious and tasty homemade liver jerky treat for dogs, packed with flavor and health benefits.

  • Total Time: 195 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, chicken, or turkey liver
  • 1 cup fresh spinach or parsley
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic (or dried garlic, to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prep the liver by rinsing it under cold water, removing any sinew or connective tissue. Pat it dry with a paper towel.
  2. Chop the liver into strips or small cubes for quicker drying.
  3. Add finely chopped spinach or parsley to the bowl with liver pieces.
  4. Mince garlic and mix it with olive oil, then toss with liver until well-coated.
  5. Dehydrate by preheating the oven to 150°F (65°C) and placing liver strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 2-3 hours, flipping halfway through.
  6. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or freezing for several months.

Notes

Experiment with herbs for different flavors. Avoid over-seasoning and overcrowding the baking sheet during dehydration.
