Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Orange food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
  3. Whisk in sugar and eggs until glossy, then fold in flour, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Prepare cream cheese mixture by beating softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and food coloring until smooth.
  5. Spread brownie batter into the pan, reserving ¼ cup for the top.
  6. Dollop cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer.
  7. Add remaining brownie batter in small spoonfuls. Swirl gently with a knife for a marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes until set but slightly gooey in the center. Cool completely before cutting.
