Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prep a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the baking soda and salt with flour (if adding). Gradually mix this dry mixture into the peanut butter mix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, setting aside some for decoration.
  6. Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space for expansion.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
  8. Immediately after removing, place a few reserved chocolate chips on each cookie for spider legs.

Notes

Chill the dough for 10-15 minutes in warm weather to prevent spreading. Rotate the baking sheet halfway through baking for even results.
