Delicious and nutritious pumpkin leather dog treats that are easy to make and loved by pets.

  • Total Time: 615 minutes
  • Yield: 20 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pureed pumpkin
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or maple syrup for a vegan alternative)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Optional: 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • Optional: 1/4 cup unsweetened peanut butter

Instructions

  1. If using fresh pumpkin, cut it in half, scoop out the seeds, and roast it until tender. Alternatively, use canned pureed pumpkin.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine pureed pumpkin with honey, cinnamon, and any optional ingredients. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Line a dehydrator tray with parchment paper and spread the mixture evenly.
  4. Set your dehydrator to 135°F (57°C) and let it run for 8-10 hours.
  5. Once the texture is no longer sticky and breaks apart easily, it’s done.
  6. Let it cool, then cut into strips or squares for easy handling. Store in an airtight container or freeze.

Notes

Ensure to preheat your dehydrator and avoid overfilling trays for even drying. Cut strips small enough for your dog to handle.
