Homemade dog treat pockets filled with love and goodness to help your furry friend take their medication.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened natural peanut butter
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 ½ cups rolled oats
  • 1 egg
  • Chicken or beef broth (low sodium), as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine peanut butter, pumpkin puree, rolled oats, egg, and enough broth to form a dough.
  3. Roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
  4. Cut the dough into small squares, around 2 inches wide.
  5. Place a pill in the center of each square and fold the edges over to seal.
  6. Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let cool completely before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

Ensure the peanut butter does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. These pockets can also be frozen for longer storage.
