Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in cocoa powder until well combined.
  3. Transfer the butter-cocoa mixture to a bowl and add both granulated and brown sugars. Mix until well combined.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together flour and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, folding until just combined.
  6. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing each cookie for spreading. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
