Ingredients
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup olive oil or unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grate the cheddar cheese.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour and garlic powder.
- Stir in the grated cheddar until well distributed.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg with the oil or softened butter.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until you form a stiff dough.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
- Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Cookies can be frozen for up to three months.
