Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1/4 teaspoon dried garlic)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until blended.
  3. Add shredded cheddar cheese and minced garlic, mixing until evenly distributed.
  4. Melt the unsalted butter and pour it into the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms. If sticky, work with floured hands until it comes together.
  5. Shape the dough into small balls about the size of a tablespoon and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Sprinkle flaky sea salt before baking for added flavor. The leftover dough can be frozen for quick snacks later.
