  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups cooked noodles or rice
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Handful of chopped fresh parsley
  • Herbs (thyme and parsley)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  4. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  5. Add the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and chopped parsley. Mix until combined.
  6. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the beef mixture. Top with the cooked noodles or rice.
  7. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with extra herbs.

Notes

To keep the casserole moist, avoid overcooking the meat. You can prepare this dish in advance and refrigerate it before baking.
